Mushroomoids represent a post-apocalyptic vision of an entity in the form of a cross between a fungus, a tree and a simple animal organism, as a more lively kind of environmental collapse. A naturally resistant species, too strange to be included in the plant and animal kingdoms, adapted to adverse environmental conditions and mutated due to toxic and radioactive material to become the dominant species living on Earth.

The topic is on the one hand the pollution and devastation of the planet, which is closely linked to the imminent climate collapse. But on the other hand, there is also the fascination with a species so resistant that it can not only live in a radiation-infested environment but also prosper.

This theme has been present in my work since 2016, when the world of mushrooms caught my attention. I have abandoned the topic several times, but it still proves inexhaustible due to new discoveries and information I learn about the mushroom kingdom. That's why I continue to return to it and keep trying to push it further.
